The Alaska Legal Services Corporation teaches a clinic that gives a general overview of the rights of debtors including validation of the debt, challenging the debt, negotiating the debt, and overview of the Fair Debt Collection Act. Alaska Legal Services offers a free family law clinic once a month on the 3rd or 4th Wednesday at Alaska Family Services conference room, 1825 S. Chugach St. from 10 am until 1 pm. Participants can arrange for free child care by calling Janice Stormer ahead of time at (907) 746-8146.
