  • 1 evening a month from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm; see Alaska Native Justice Center’s website for the clinic schedule.

• Family Law Education Class - Anchorage

This class is for people who are representing themselves in divorce and custody cases. The class will:

• Provide an overview of these cases
• Explain court procedure and provide forms on motions and oppositions, property division, custody, visitation and child support, hearings and trials, final papers
• Be helpful if you no longer have an attorney and are representing yourself

The classes are at the Nesbett Courthouse, 825 W. 4th Ave., Courtroom 500 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. CLASS BEGINS PROMPTLY AT 12:00 p.m.:

The Alaska Legal Services Corporation teaches a clinic that gives a general overview of the rights of debtors including validation of the debt, challenging the debt, negotiating the debt, and overview of the Fair Debt Collection Act. Family Law Clinic (Divorce, Custody & Support )

Alaska Legal Services offers a free family law clinic once a month on the 3rd or 4th Wednesday at Alaska Family Services conference room, 1825 S. Chugach St. from 10 am until 1 pm. Participants can arrange for free child care by calling Janice Stormer ahead of time at (907) 746-8146.
