Decompressing Self-Executing and Zipped Files

Some files provided on the court's website are in one of two compressed formats: self-executing, which end with a .exe extension, and zipped, which end with a .zip extension.

Once you have downloaded the compressed file to your computer you'll need to decompress or "extract" the documents.

Windows95 and Higher Decompression Instructions

  1. Download the file.
  2. Select Start, Run and type the directory and file name of the compressed file you downloaded in the Open box.
    [Example: c:\spub0101.exe]
    or
Select Browse to search for the file in your directories and double click on it once you've found it,
    or
Look for the file under the appropriate directory in My Computer and double click on it once you've found it
  3. Enter a destination directory for the files in the Extract to: box and click EXTRACT. The file will decompress and the individual opinions for the week will appear in the directory you selected.
