Alaska Court System Trial Courts

eFiling is mandatory for most users in court locations where it is available. Visit Optional and Mandatory Use of TrueFiling and User Resources page for instructions, training guides, and information on technical support for eFiling through TrueFiling.

Court users may direct questions about eFiling to the Clerk of Court for each court location.

• June 16, 2025 - Full electronic Civil & Small Claims for most court locations.
• Fall 2025 - Anchorage, Palmer, Sand Point and Saint Paul will go live with full Civil and Small Claims eFiling.
• 2027 - All remaining case types (Delinquency, CINA, and Probate) are tentatively scheduled to roll out by January 2027. Please check back for more information about the specific go live timelines for these case types..

eFiling is mandatory at the time that it becomes available in a court location. Court users should attend trainings, review available instructions and training resources on the TrueFiling User Resources page.

Self-represented litigants may, but will not be required to, efile documents using TrueFiling, even after the initial period of implementation. In addition, pursuant to Administrative Bulletin 92, parties who are required to efile documents using TrueFiling may file paper documents when there is a TrueFiling outage or malfunction or other internet system outage that makes eFiling impossible or impracticable, or when paper filing is necessary in the interest of justice.

The Supreme Court has authorized the Administrative Director to adopt provisional rules and procedures to support eFiling. See Supreme Court Order 1943. The signed provisional eFiling rules appear in Administrative Bulletin 92. These provisional rules are expected to change often as the court system gains more experience with eFiling. TrueFiling provides online access to images of non-confidential documents in the trial court file for criminal cases only. However, to view documents in TrueFiling, a user must click "Add Myself/Connected User" to each individual case they want to follow. Anyone added as a connected user and the email address they registered in TrueFiling will appear in the publicly viewable list of case contacts in TrueFiling until removed. Any user added or removed from the case contacts for each case will appear in the register of participant history.

To register for TrueFiling , you must provide a valid email address. The email address will be part of your credentials and will be the address used by the court and other parties for service of documents.
