Guardianship & Conservatorship Classes
All Classes are held via Zoom.
Fundamentals of Adult Guardianship and Conservatorship
- 1st Tuesday of each month from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m.
- This class will provide participants with information about a guardian’s or conservator’s duties and responsibilities to a protected person. Attending the class satisfies the court education requirement for new guardians and conservators. You will receive a certificate following the class to file with the court.
- You will need to register for the class through Zoom.

If you cannot attend a live class, the court has a three-part video series and Part 3 will also satisfy the court education requirement. The course will prompt you to print a certificate.
Tracking Information and Filling Out Annual Reports
- 2nd Tuesday of each month from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m.
- This class will provide participants with information about completing the annual report. It will discuss how to properly answer the questions and explain free tools that help keep track of finances. If you were court ordered to attend the class, you will receive a certificate to file with the court.
- You will need to register for the class through Zoom.

How to Petition for Adult Guardianship or Conservatorship
- 3rd Tuesday of every month from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m.
- This class will provide participants with information about (1) alternatives to guardianship or conservatorship to think about before asking to court to appoint a guardian or conservator, and (2) forms to use and the process to follow if you decide to petition the court to appoint a guardian.
- You will need to register for the class through Zoom.

Alaska’s Income and Expense Tracking Software
- 4th Tuesday of each month from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m.
- This class will provide participants with information about tracking software designed specific for Alaska’s family/friend guardians or conservators who need to keep track of income and expenses. This user-friendly software can be used on a computer or most smart phones, and is free of charge.
- You will need to register for the class through Zoom.
